Welcome to the new site of SouthernCaribbean.Org
An Initiative of Rainbow Warriors International

Dedicated to sustainable development and human rights in the Southern Caribbean countries of Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba

Partnerships for sustainable development -- voluntary, multi-stakeholder initiatives aimed at implementing sustainable development -- were an important complementary outcome of the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD), held in Johannesburg in 2002. At its 11th Session in May 2003, the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) reaffirmed that these partnerships contribute to the implementation of intergovernmental commitments, recognizing that partnerships are a complement to, not a substitute for, intergovernmental commitments.
Voluntary multi-stakeholder initiatives contributing to the implementation of Agenda 21, Rio+5 and the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation (JPOI).

It is this concept of partnerships that embodies the vision behind SouthernCaribbean.Org.

This web site will have a special focus on:
  • Agenda 21
  • Millennium Declaration
  • WSSD Partnerships
  • International Decade for Action: Water for Life (2005-2015)
